MBTA Communities Act (MBTACA)
On November 14, 2023, 84% of Town Meeting Members voted to pass Brookline's Consensus MBTA-CA Warrant Article.
We want to thank Brookline's Select Board, our Planning Department and the Town Administrator for developing the Harvard Street re-zoning proposal and the Consensus Warrant Article; the MBTA-CA Multi-family Permitting Committee for rezoning the Brookline Housing Authority property on Walnut-High Street; and Tommy Vitolo for working to change the MBTACA regulations at the state level.
We especially want to thank Select Board Member Paul Warren for brokering negotiations between the Yes in Brookline coalition (Brookline for Everyone, Greater Boston Interfaith Organization and Brookline Community Development Corporation) and Brookline by Design to finalize the details of the Harvard Street rezoning.
It took everyone’s hard work to find a meaningful consensus plan to meet our state obligation. Go to YesinBrookline.com for details about the MBTA-CA Consensus Warrant Article. The Harvard Street Form Based Codes rezoning is here.
Brookline for Everyone believes our town now has the tools in place to continue making 21st century upgrades to other underutilized areas of Brookline.
